About the event

Cancer survivors and other body changing life events including domestic violence and trauma face numerous challenges, both physical and emotional, as they navigate life after a cancer diagnosis.

One particular challenge that many cancer survivors grapple with is body image. The impact of cancer and its treatment on the physical appearance of survivors can result in changes to their body, such as scarring, disfigurement and persistent hair loss. These physical changes can have a profound effect on survivors' self-esteem and overall body image. Research has shown that cancer survivors with head/neck scarring, disfigurement, and persistent hair loss are more likely to experience role limitations due to emotional problems, which suggests a negative impact on self-esteem and self-image.

Despite these challenges, many cancer survivors find ways to embrace their changed bodies and celebrate their resilience. One unique opportunity for cancer survivors to explore and enhance their body image is by visiting Survivors Week at Hedonism. Survivors Week offers a unique and inclusive environment where individuals can freely express themselves, embrace their bodies, and celebrate their journeys as cancer survivors. At a Hedonism resort, cancer survivors can find a supportive community of like-minded individuals who understand and appreciate the challenges they have faced. These resorts provide a space where survivors can feel comfortable and confident in their own skin, regardless of any physical changes they may have experienced. Furthermore, Hedonism resorts offer numerous activities and amenities that can help cancer survivors build confidence and enhance their body image. Activities such as yoga, dance classes, and spa treatments can help survivors feel more connected to their bodies and promote a sense of self-acceptance.
